CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — A Lowcountry nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free menstrual products and advancing menstrual equity, will be hosting their inaugural fundraising gala Saturday.
According to the Lowcountry Period Pixies, organizers the event aims to bring together community leaders, advocates, and supporters for a night of live entertainment, cocktails and a curated silent auction, all in support of menstrual equity across the Lowcountry
“Our mission is rooted in dignity and access,” said Melissa Soule, Founder and Chair of the Lowcountry Period Pixies. “This gala is more than a celebration—it’s a call to action. Together, we can ensure that no one in our community has to go without basic necessities.”
Since its founding, the Lowcountry Period Pixies organization has worked to combat period poverty, ensuring that individuals in need have access to essential hygiene products, and are not held back by stigma or lack of resources.
The Crimson Garden: An Elegant Evening Benefiting the Lowcountry Period Pixies, will take place on July 11, at 5:30 PM at Lance Hall in Charleston. The organization states that funds raised during the event will go toward directly supporting product distribution, community outreach and educational initiatives throughout the region.
